IMR batteries are often referred to as "safe chemistry" batteries as they are a different chemical composition to standard Li-Ion (Lithium Cobalt) batteries, with lower internal resistance, and should be able to deliver a higher current while maintaining their capacity and avoiding thermal build up.

Any batteery sold in the UK must comply with The Batteries and Accumulators (Placing on the Market) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 and must have the capacity and crossed out wheelie bin symbol indelibly printed on the wrapper (not on a label).
